Very funny. It’s easy to get frustrated with education, because sometimes what they teach is wrong, or new evidence is found, changing the facts, so what you were taught when it was right is now wrong and you wonder what the point was of learning it in the first place. But look on the bright side, by practising learning you get better at it, so relearning stuff should be easier in the future. Right? Right?
The odds are the same for that one tail to land at any point in the sequence. That’s why frame four is so crucial. I wrote “any SPECIFIED way” for a reason. Sure you have a better chance at saying the coin will land tails up three out of the ten flips and being right, then you do saying it wont land on tails at all. But, where in the sequence will those tails come up? Generically saying “a tail will land three times” covers a vast amount of the possible sequences. All of which have an equal chance of landing.
In other words, your right! Your just disagreeing with something that was never said in the comic.

while it’s true that any one sequence is as likely as another, the father is wrong because there is one way to get 10 H, but ten ways to get 9H1T.
